After creating her system of Tap Dancing Hands Down® and teaching it for several years, Mary Six Rupert wanted to build a tap company that used the technique in performance. She gathered a few disabled students from her classes at Mount Sinai Hospital, a few professional dancers and musical theatre performers, and created Tap: On Tap — An All-Abilities Tap Ensemble. Mary Six is proud of the fact that Tap: On Tap integrates dancers with disabilities and dancers without disabilities, which creates an exciting and diverse group of performers. The company is based in NYC, and has performed at various events and dance concerts.
